About the Artwork
Les Chevaux de Dalí is a 1972 suite of lithographs made from gouaches Dalí painted in 1971, reimagining the horse through history, myth, and the surreal. The printer separated each painting into multiple color plates to recreate its washes, drips, and opaque highlights, which gives the suite its painterly look. Dalí approved and hand-signed the impressions.
This is the original 1972 printing on large BFK Rives sheets. The suite was reissued in 1983 with a printed signature on smaller sheets; this impression is hand-signed in pencil.
